So I quit that soul-crushing job 5 months ago. And my old boss just called me with a very strange request I had to tell you about.
I finally left the toxic job I had with my garbage boss last September. It seems they took 5 months, but they finally hired my replacement last week. I was their only marketing analyst, and I built their entire marketing reporting system from scratch - all the performance trackers, lead gen reports, and the whole shebang.
This afternoon, my old boss called me asking if I could join a Teams call with them and the new employee next week to 'show him the ropes'.
Am I the crazy one, or has this request crossed all boundaries? Part of me wants to agree, just because I don't want to harm a couple of my colleagues whom I genuinely respect and are still trapped there. My thought is to agree, but then tell the new guy the whole unvarnished truth, under the guise of 'some useful tips' from the person who was in his position before him.
What would you do if you were in my place?
