The middle east region
In the Middle East, iran wanted a Shia Cresent, and had their own axis of resistance, turkey and erdogan want their own sphere of influence and kurds want or wanted a Kurdistan. I know of the different conflicts in this region: the israel-iran conflict, israel-palestine conflict, syrian civil war and the ousting of Bashar al-assad. The Iraq war and afghanistan wars which have since ended etc and the arab spring
I know that Israel is a strategic ally for the United States in the region, the US supports and backs Israel, with foreign aid and at the UN. Israel is just trying to survive in a world, where hostile forces surround it, threaten it, and often attack it. It just seems that this region is always chaotic especially since the early 2000s. Do you see things changing in the ME or the status quo remaining the same? Will things work out in Israel's favor?
I believe israel serve as a counterweight to iranian ambitions in the region. I believe that Israel's actions are designed to crush or deny their enemies the ability to launch attacks into their country, direct attacks against their country, and monitor threats. I know theres a pattern where arabs attack israel>>>arabs lose territory>>> israel seizes buffer zone. I feel like at this point, if you throw the first punch, don't feel like the victim when israel punches back.
There's a lot of talk now about israeli influence in America and over our government etc. There's also propaganda and the perception that expansionist israel wants to seize more territory from arabs and uproot arabs from their land. I think we have to challenge propaganda and lies with the truth. I read comments from people bashing Hillary Clinton as being a shill for israel, but her husband worked diligently to try to secure a state for palestinians. She understands what is going on and has spoken out, to her credit.
