Distress due to MIL attitude

I've been married for over a year, tried to create friendship with my MIL but recently she has once again said bad things to my husband behind my back and he got stressed and asked me about it.

She shares everything with her mother and big sister. She went to her big sister house for few days, when we went to pick her up, her Brother in law took a class of my husband while looking at me(I suppose she has talked bad about me there also, hence such reaction) . he even refused to take sweets that we took along for them as a gift.

Then she gave me silent treatment. When I didn't react, she again complain to my husband that I'm not talking to her. Now I want a sane advice how to tackle her as she over shares a lot about her family which I'm not interested in but politely listen to it, now I'm tired.

Secondly, she expects me to cook when her family arrives, expects to give more money as a blessing in her family events. My husband is just don't know how to create boundaries with her. How to make him Understand without giving off a negative vibes
