Gif file broken?

the text file

when i reopen that file its just green- its lost isnt it...

I rendered an animation into a gif and i overwrote that file when i tweaked the animation with the same name and all. Now when i open it though its just the first frame as png, but the .gif text file it came with says its all there? the frames and all. Is there a way to fix this ;C i was stupid and i didnt save it as a krita file since i was confident it saved as a gif and it took a lot of effort and ahhhh
