Is Puffin Books a good company for publishing kids books?

i'm in the middle of writing a 3 book kids series and im think of publishing with puffin. Its aged for kids around 10-14 but it is still a bit dark for a kids book. I know that self- publishing works for book but it can still be a swing and a miss if it doesn't reach the right audience.
