Heartbroken after a breakup, trying to move on the halal way and get closer to Allah.

General Discussion

Assalamu alaikum everyone,

I’m going through something really difficult and I don’t know who to talk to about it, so I’m hoping someone here has been through something similar.

I loved a guy deeply for over a year. He promised me marriage and, for the first time in my life, I genuinely felt like I had found someone who understood me on every level. It felt so right like he was the one Allah had written for me. But things didn’t work out from his side, and he chose to end the relationship.

For the past two weeks, I’ve been barely functioning. I’ve been praying constantly, crying constantly, and asking Allah to show me if he was meant for me or not. My heart kept going back to him, so I reached out… only for him to tell me it’s his final decision.

I’m trying so hard to move on without falling into anything haram. I really want to detach myself and get closer to Allah, but every time I pray, the pain hits harder. I know Allah has written the best for me, but right now I only feel fear and sadness. I don’t see any hope in front of me.

If anyone has been in a similar situation heartbreak after thinking someone was your future, please tell me what helped you. How did you move on in a halal way? How did you let go emotionally and spiritually when your heart still felt attached?

Any advice, duas, routines, or reminders would mean a lot. JazakAllah khair.
