Road to 1M
30M and new to investing. I’ve saved 200k CAD and moved it into Wealthsimple. About 25k is now in my TFSA and the rest is sitting in my chequing for the moment. Planning to keep 6 months of living expenses as an emergency fund and invest everything above that.
My employer matches a DCCP2 contribution 100% (total of $346/month. Now at ~11k). My income averages around 120k gross, and my wife earns 30–40k.
I’m wondering if maxing out my wife’s TFSA as well is a good idea, since it’s our money anyway and the tax-free growth would benefit both of us long term.
What I’m unsure about: • Should I focus on RRSP, TFSA (hers), FHSA, or a mix? What ETFs stocks do we invest in for high rewards = high risk tolerance • We want to buy a property eventually, but only in cash, no mortgage. • I can invest about $1,000 a month consistently. • Long-term goal is to buy property cash and reach a 1M+ net worth.
No debt at all and our car is paid off. Any feedback, advice, or recommendations would be really appreciated. Thanks and happy holidays everyone.
