I cannot change the actual, real world volume of my linux laptop

hardware/drivers

Hi guys! I'm running Arch Linux on a Lenovo Yoga 7, when adjusing the volume using the built in keys, the bar moves up and down, but the actual volume of my laptop doesn't change (I.E. Linux shows that the volume is increasing and decreasing, but the actual sound leaving my laptop is exactly the same.)

I've tried both pulse audio and pipewire for the same result, and I can't find anyone else that seems to be having this issue. Any ideas?

I don't think it really has any effect but I'm running KDE Plasma as my desktop.

I've tried applications like Pamixer and Pavucontrol to no avail.
