Biopsy results delay

Hi everyone!

My dad is a 56 yr old male with a renal tumor/mass on the left side of his kidney which at the moment is favored to be RCC.

After he got some PET scans done, they decided to do a biopsy on 11/17 as it’s looking like it’s metastasizing.

It’s 12/06 and we’ve yet to get the biopsy results back. They were submitted for MDM2 FISH testing to rule out liposarcoma.

It’s really frustrating bc I know getting treatment is going to be another 1-3wk process and we’ve been trying to rule out a prognosis since Aug/Sept.

Have any of you struggled with your biopsy reports? Or is this most likely shitty timing w/ the holidays?
