DMV Permit Renew Question

My learners permit expired in October, and I made a permit appointment for January (Which I hope is the correct one to press on WaitWell). My original Identification Card was voided when I originally got my permit in October 2024, so i’m wondering if I have to get a new Identification Card first, then go get my permit again, or if I can just go and take the test without it and bring proof of residency and whatnot. If someone knows the entire process and papers required it would be great help because that DMV website has absolutely no help.
