How to deal with coworkers who try too hard to please managers?

Advice

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed at work that some colleagues seem to go out of their way to impress managers — volunteering for everything, always speaking up, and generally being very “visible.” While I don’t mind people being proactive, sometimes it feels like these actions can unintentionally take opportunities away from others.

I’m curious: • Do managers actually notice this behavior? • How should one handle situations where someone’s over-eagerness affects task distribution? • Any tips on staying professional and visible without coming across as overly eager?

I’m genuinely asking for advice and want to learn how to navigate this in a respectful way. Thanks in advance!

  • ( please be respectful, i posted this on some other subreddit and got hate because i called “bootlickers” when i just wanted an advice) lol
