A question from a non autistic person.

Social Struggles

Hey, so I have a question, it comes with a story so bear with me. So, I live in Israel, one day(around 6 or so months ago.), we had an air siren at our school, we rushed to the shelters, mind you, that was around 80-100 people inside, so very crowded. I am very claustrophobic, so I entered a small room in the shelter, that has a lot of projects of some classes, it was me, my friend(who was there supporting me) and a kid from the special ed class(at least so I assume.), the kid, sitting on the other couch across from us, said his thoughts out loud, and said he wanted to climb stuff, the stuff in question was my class's science project, which was organized in stacks that looked climbable. I told the kid not to, because it's our project and we don't want him ruining it, but he yelled "but I want to climb it!!!!", my friend yelled back "that's our stuff!", the kid ignores, and tried to climb, my friend physically pulled him back, the kid screaming and made my ears bleed out(figuratively), afterwards, he ripped apart kites that were in the room(these were the project of another class.), He also sang out loud, which annoyed me since I was already panicked and not happy with all the noise, and he tried to get us to dance with him, and placed his hands around our shoulders, out of instincts, I slapped his hand aggressively, which he cried and called the teacher, who gave us a stern look and pulled the kid out. Alright, story over.

Also, I keep seeing the same kid in the same shirt, going around the school talking with imaginary friends, like a vampire and adventure people?? Or whatever? I also keep seeing him with the special ED teacher, which reinforces my assumption he is autistic.

Anyways, my question is: is destructive behavior common in Autistic people? I don't mean to offend anyone, just to be clear. Sorry Mods I didn't know how to flair it.
