Experience Using Advance Parole

I-130 & I-485 (Family/Adjustment of status)

Hey this is my experience using advance parole and i want to do a post to highlight a few changes to the experience

I traveled to Punta Cana in July and it was a little big straight forward.. There are a few changes

This time i went to London and spent 12 days.. Landed In Chicago and ran to the Border control.. Business Class so i was the 2nd on the line to be attended to

Got the officer 10.22am and he told me ill be going for secondary inspection cos i have parole document

Got to the other room 10.25am and unlike in July when i left the place in exactly 23 minutes, this time- someone took me to another room around 10:46am

Got in and he told me there are a few changes to the process.. At this point i got a lil scared

  1. He said there is now a fee of $1,000 anytime you are paroled into the United States. If you refuse to pay, your parole document is cancelled and you are deported

The good news- I am exempted from paying because i am adjusting status.. I heaved a sigh of relief…

  1. Biometrics are now taken.. Again unlike in July- i did not do finger prints.. This time, my 10 fingers were captured and around 10:56am i was escorted out of the room. I bid my farewell and im now on my connecting flight to Houston

So again, its safe to use advance Parole.. I just thought to share my experience.. The 2nd time in less than 6 months i have used it to travel
