Tapering antihistamine

I had severe chronic urticaria post covid. Got on Xolair and x4 Allegra per day. Hives went away but needed Allegra for another 8 months or so. Stopped Xolair. Tapered Allegra down to 1 a day. Stopped Allegra and on day 3 or 4 had hives erupt on wrists and back. Almost started Xolair again but just 1 Allegra per day calmed it back down. I then realized this might be withdrawal from Allegra. Tapered down by going to 1 pill every other night. Then half pill every other night. Then stopping. Anyway I have a feeling if I’d asked my allergist he would have said I still had chronic hives and told me to keep taking drugs. It seems to have been straight up antihistamine withdrawal. On day 5 or 6 and no hives yet off all meds. Just wanted to tell everyone because Allegra isn’t known for causing severe itching when stopping like Zyrtec.
