Should I ask for reduced work and a raise? Or find another job?
I work in the headquarters of a company that is very successful. We have many locations in Canada and the USA but our primary warehouse, factory and distribution center is where I work.
I’m the operations Manager. I run the facility, oversee the factory and warehouse, handle ordering and distribution to all of our locations, as well as manage local contractors who install our product. I do training, I do product design and all around putting out of fires everywhere.
I make $72,000 a year Canadian and haven’t had a raise in years. As the company has grown my job has grown with it and has become very overwhelming. I’ve told my boss about this, we have changed some aspects but not the ones that make a big difference.
I’m burnt out, im tired, I dread every day but I have a family to feed.
Should I start job hunting? I’m I being a wimp? Am I being taken advantage of?
For context I’m a high performer, I don’t sit still and work at a very fast pace. I’m good at the job and am a result of the companies success.
