What happens when you have no idea what to do anymore at 40+ ?

Advice

I worked in the investment banking and trading area for about a decade and then left the industry after gaining traction providing digital marketing advice. 9 years later I am burned out from this pivot and reconsidering my original desires for finance. However, I am now 41. I've kept up with all of my analysis experience from finance as I continued to do it daily for my own investing purposes but to anyone that reviews my resume, there will be a large gap in finance. Should I even try? Or what does one do when they hit their 40s and question what they are doing. I even know what level I would apply for. Any suggestions?
