Interference issues: Walking pad breaks USB audio interface and KVM setup

Hi,

I got a walking pad the other month and it works great. I keep it in my office under my desk. I do have one problem though and I’m wondering if this is just something you have to live with.

Under my desk I have a desktop PC and an Axe-FX 2 hanging down. The Axe-FX 2 also works as my audio interface and outputs to two monitors on my desk. Whenever I use the walking pad, it completely kills the USB connection between my PC and the Axe-FX. That’s “fine” since I can just use Bluetooth headphones while walking, but it’s still annoying.

Yesterday I added a KVM switch so I can use my work laptop with the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I’m seeing the same kind of issues on it as well. The screen flickers when I walk, the keyboard sometimes stops responding, and so on.

It is a cheap KVM switch, but all of these issues only happen when the walking pad is running.

Is this normal? Do walking pads create electrical interference from the motor or something similar? I can’t really find any good info on this.
