An enigma wrapped in a riddle,

Cytomight, at SW , has been putting out intriguing theories about Joe Merdling so thought I would join in. First it was always a question mark to me why a long time Merck employee would jump to a tiny BioTech while he was in mid career success, Did Merck cut him loose ? Did he take a early retirement package from Merck or maybe he just wanted a change, No idea but there are other things that make me question his hire at Cytodyn,, He was a Director level at Merck and may have worked at their Corporate HQ in Whitehouse, NJ. Since sold to a Tech company and Merck has moved their Corporate offices back to Rahway, NJ. Regardless he probably began his work at Mercks Rahway facility because their Corporate, Research Labs and a a segment of their Pharma production were all housed there. His last position at Merck was Facility Manager at their Kenilworth , NJ site which, prior to November. 2009, was a property belonging to Schering Plough.

Bear with me. Schering and Merck merger was greeted with shrugs. Jim Kramer of CNBC said "It was two companies who had run out of ideas".. Merck had just come off their Vioxx settlement and Schering was down to Claritin fifth version. Schering had Keytruda in its inventory and had not been developed yet so it was an unknown. I theorize that Keytruda was incubated and brought to approval under the authority of Jre Meilding. Imaginative stretch to think that he is now working to enhance it.

A couple of other things that make sense to me. Joe was a part time teacher at his alma mater for years and from all accounts was very well regarded there. He gave that up when he took the Cytodyn job . Even though he is working remotely and could have kept it. Also, if Merck had let him go then why give up a source of income as a college instructor ? If you were required to travel from New Jersey to Washington State sometimes then giving up the Prof lob makes sense. Finally, his Linked In reveals that Kenilworth was a producer of BioLogics. Rahway site only produced chemical manufacturing, There is a difference. Is Merck Kenilworth the new manufacturing site for Leronlimab ?
