Poor quality Hoka transports - was I unlucky?

I bought a pair of Hoka Transports in October, men's size 12.5 EE. After about 5 weeks, the inside heel of the the right shoe was already wearing away and the hard material was rubbing into my heel causing me pain. The store manager offered to do a warranty exchange. But the store could only order a different color for my size. But when that pair arrived, despite being the same size, a EE width, it was considerably more narrow than the first pair. So I get to choose between a "wide" shoe that isn't wide enough for my foot, or a shoe that wore out after 5 weeks. Is that standard Hoka quality and sizing?
