Keep or sell my old truck
Looking for advice, whether to keep or sell. 1998 k1500 Silverado trim, around 376,000km or 233,000 miles. It has the original 5.7 vortec and 4l60e, engine still has good compression.
Have owned this truck for quite a while, and have fixed a lot of things over the years. Upgraded mpfi injectors, new upper and lower intake manifold gaskets, countless seals, entire cooling system, braking system, ignition components, 2 fuel pumps, and entire front end. Its an ongoing list of things that still need to be fixed.
Have been entertaining a 3/4 ton gmt800, or (I know this is a Chev forum) a f250 with the 6.2 litre, reason being the heavier duty trucks seem to be able to withstand the abuse of driving on logging roads / offroad better and the components are beefier overall.
The frame is solid, but it has rust in both fenders, and both cab corners are starting to go. Is this worth continuing to fix rust and other mechanical items going forward, or look into something newer?
