Screening calls feel like an interrogation where I'm being suspected of foul play

I'm being asked questions like:

"Why are you looking for a job change?"

"Why is there a gap between your LWD and your joining date in the new company?"

"Holding any other offers?"

"Why are you applying to other jobs when you already have an offer?"

"Current CTC? Expected CTC?"

Seriously, how do/did you guys handle such questions?
