Am I overreacting ? Was my past relationship actually unhealthy or am I overthinking?

awaiting verification

Hey everyone, I just wanted an outside perspective on something. I was in a relationship like nearly an year ago ( it’s been long but can’t really get fully over it ) where the guy was emotionally unavailable very dry replies, barely opened up, didn’t check on me, and I always felt like I was the only one making efforts to make him feel special be it gifts or if he was low I would sit there and just try to make him feel good but all I got from him was “idk how to show affection I cant do all this gifts ka drama and all (he would say gifts are a kind off manipulation tactics 🤦🏻‍♀️)

At the time I didn’t see it clearly, but now I’m wondering if that was actually a sign the relationship wasn’t healthy or if I’m reading too much into it.

Would appreciate honest opinions. Is emotional unavailability a valid reason to walk away?
