Farm plots are annoying in the thanksgiving update

So my friend was an alien she used the gun to kill 2 mammoths but we did'nt grow pumpkins and thanksgiving was that night and yet just a few days later i had 6 pumpkins (my teammate said the ribs went with pumpkins idk if its true)
