Ladies with no children, what are your reasons for living?

I had a moment last week where I asked myself why am I doing what I do? For context I’m working out 4 days a week trying to get a better job that has physical requirements I can’t currently meet. I work full time and I live with my lazy/dysfunctional family. Maybe I was just tired that day, but I realized in 20 years or so my parents and partner will be old to where I need to take care of them. My dog will be long gone and everyone I love will be essentially gone if I’m being dramatic. I will be alone in my retirement years.

So why work for a better job with more money if I won’t have anything to live for? I guess you can say I live for those I love. Maybe that’s toxic. Maybe this post sounds ass backward. I probably have low self esteem. I clearly don’t see value for myself other than what I can provide. I have hobbies but that’s not what gets me through everyday.

When everyone I love is gone what do I have to live for? I probably won’t have kids so I’m looking for a reason to keep on keeping on. Logically I know it’s important to have a good career, 401k, etc, but I can’t make self want it if that makes sense. Some days I get into a funk and only work out by habit and my partner continually motivating me. Idk what are your reasons?
