“Slow breath. Clear eyes. Record don’t react. Move steady. Home is the goal.”

SAFE SPACE for psychological discussion

Five things to keep in mind, a mantra for night photography if you’re around ANY big animals (or cryptids) that could save your life and your footage.

Slow breathing — stay calm.

Clear eyes — observe calmly.

Record don’t react — seeing a pattern?

Move steady.

And lastly:

#”Home is the goal.”

Don’t end up like Ahab out in the woods, chasing your big glowing proof of the century. You may not catch anything but raccoons 🦝 and a cold from tramping around in the woods all night.

Better footage is coming, because people are becoming more aware of best-practices (higher FPS, most of all!) and the importance of fieldcraft as well as top-notch tech.
