Does my friend have to worry ( current Ukrainian turmoil)

I befriended a refugee during my last row visits to Amsterdam.

He is a really nice guy and we talk every week.

This week though he was different when I asked him what happened he told me he got sent a booklet on how to prep in case there is a war.

Now him being a refugee becaz of a war this really really freaked him out a lot.

I told him not to worry and that the potential to have a war with Russia isn’t so high but he must be prepared and that’s why the booklet helps.

Yet this hasn’t calmed his fears at all and now all we talk about is news and Russia and the war situation in Ukraine and the possibility of war.

He thinks I’m way downplaying the issue saying the government in the Netherlands doesn’t lie and won’t make stuff up. I told him sure it won’t it just wants you to be prepared that’s all…

Any ideas on how to try to help him be more calm? ( seriousness aside I even told him go visit a coffee shop!).

Is it really that worrying of a situation do you guys think there might be an upcoming war ?
