What are my chances of getting this mental health issue waived and what to do?
Went to meps and passed all the test except when I got to the medical portion towards the end, the doc asked me about an ER visit (which I went for stomach issues) that wasn’t the issue but in my medical record it says (Active: Suicidal thoughts) but I’ve no issues or history of mental health ever, never attempted anything suicidal or went to a therapist or been diagnosed with any depression of any sort so it angers me when I see that. Went to the hospital and filled out an amendment form to change my medical record, but I’m at a stall here, not sure what to do. I don’t have health insurance right now at the moment and don’t know my chances on getting the amendment approved and if it’s denied I have no clue what to do. Wondering if it’s still waiverable (suicidal thoughts) even though I’m not suicidal or depressed nor have ever been. It says it on my record and I’m in a pinch. Any help would be greatly appreciated and how to approach this. My recruiter said I could either wait for the amendment to be approved or denied, or make a statement with my witness and the doctor and maybe get approved for the waiver but, that doctor is a ER doc and I don’t think he’d be able to do a statement at all considering I only visited that day for stomach pain.
