Do Modern Day Shared Terms discriminate?

We have better words Homeless like Unhoused. Better words for Ex-con like Formerly Incarcerated. Where's the new name for somebody who people Love to call , Alcoholics? Instead of "alcoholic," terms like "person with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD)," "person experiencing severe alcohol use, " or "person with a substance use disorder. But a person that a lot of people used to call a Druggie or a Drug addict is now a Substance Use Disorder (SUD), which replaced older terms like addiction/dependence. "Person with substance use disorder" are also used, emphasizing the person first. The terms that describe people with drug issues and problems don't seem as harsh in my opinion.
