Eyeglasses

I just began to notice that every time I wear my eyeglasses, my face begins to itch and breakout in the central area. I probably hadn't noticed it before because I never thought that eyeglasses could be a trigger. Lately, I've been paying closer attention, though. My glasses frames are plastic. I mentioned it to my eye doctor and she said she hadn't heard of that. Does this happen to anyone else? If so, do you apply something on your face like a barrier cream that helps before you wear your glasses? TIA
