using GPT for feedback on my personal statement

So I've never used gpt to help me write my personal statement. All the ideas, content and drafts are all by me, but I've been using chat gpt to comment on my personal statement and tell me which areas I need to improve on.

It started out really useful, but I realised that gpt basically became a yes-man (saying my personal statement is perfect!! ivy league standard!!) and now I have no idea whether my essay is good or not. Any thoughts on this? I've tried giving my essay to my friends to read but most of them are applying to UK, so I'm not sure if I can trust them too? fyi, I'm pretty sure UK personal statements are quite different from US personal statements, so what works in UK may not work in US
