A happy goodbye to IVF and infertility!

I can't believe that I can finally close the book on the infertility that's taken over my life for the past 8 years, but here we are. I get to close not only the chapter, but the whole damn book.

I have anovulatory PCOS, and was told at the age of 17 that i'd need help getting pregnant.

We started trying in 2018, and went to a clinic in 2019. 10+ medicated cycles, 3 IUIs and 2 miscarriages later, our time on the funded IVF list finally came up.

This was in 2021, so COVID protocols meant I went through the entire process alone - no support people allowed. I was super lucky and got 42 eggs (thanks PCOS). 23 fertilized, 22 embryos created. 9 pgt tested with 8 euploids and 1 low level mosaic. The rest untested.

Our first transfer resulted in another loss, 2nd was a fail, and the 3rd transfer resulted in my daughter, born in 2022. Just a few months into my 2022 pregnancy, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. His first chemo was 3 weeks before she was born. Talk about added stress Feeling extra lucky that we created those embryos before the treatments (he's okay and totally cancer free now!)

This year, we started transfers again. This time, it only took 2 transfer to get a positive.

That positive test was born on Monday, and I'm here snuggling my 6 day old feeling so blessed and complete. Our 3 year old is the best sister, and we are so happy.

Our road to this family was not easy. 8 years of monitored cycles, retrieval, transfers, miscarriages, cancer, c sections, etc. But man was it all worth it (maybe not the cancer, could have gone without that one).

Feeling super grateful for the scientists who chased this wild idea and changed the world. Our family would not be complete without them .

Now I get to move on and find out who I am when I'm not TTC, or thinking about TTC, or on some type of drug to help me TTC. Ahhh what a weight lifted!!

Also happy for this group where we can share wins like this
