I’m a 2026 batch B.Tech CSE student, and I wanted to share where I currently stand in my placement journey.

So far, I have two campus job offers:

1. Infosys – System Engineer (3.6 LPA)
2. Virtusa – (5 LPA)

Surprisingly, after these two selections, I’ve stopped receiving further emails from the Placement Department because of some internal politics and strategic cap policies. As a result, I’m not being allowed to sit for any additional interviews, even though I cracked both opportunities that came initially.

My Skills & Preparation

• Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms
• Solved 500+ LeetCode problems
• Good knowledge of Development and GenAI

I’ve spent almost a year preparing seriously—DSA, development, system design basics, communication skills—yet the two interviews I cracked mainly asked simple OS, OOPs, and basic DSA (arrays/strings).
This makes me feel that the skills I worked so hard to build are not being utilised at all.

Why I’m Feeling Stuck

• These two offers were from the very first companies, and I cleared them both.
• I didn’t expect the college to cap me immediately from further placements.
• Meanwhile, many of my unplaced friends are now eligible for 7–9 LPA and even 10–12 LPA companies, but I’m not allowed to sit for those drives because I already have two offers.

It honestly feels unfair that months of hard DSA prep and consistent learning are now being compared to students who prepared just 2–3 weeks for companies like Virtusa/Infosys.

Trying Off-Campus

I am applying off-campus everywhere—LinkedIn, company portals, referrals—but I’m barely receiving updates or responses.

When I first got placed, I was genuinely happy.
I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders — I thought, “Now I don’t have to take pressure. I can relax a bit and confidently prepare for even better companies.”

But the same placements that once felt like a blessing have now become a curse for me.
Instead of opening more doors, they’ve actually closed the ones I was aiming for.

Now I have started to lose confidence in DSA.
