Find X9 Front Cam: Great for Solos, Struggles with Groups?
Hi everyone, I've been using the Oppo Find X9 for a few weeks now. I absolutely love the device and the cameras, but I'm noticing a specific behavior with the front camera during group selfies. The Issue: When taking a selfie with multiple people, I (in the front) am perfectly sharp, but anyone standing slightly behind me or in the background is optically out of focus. Observations:
- Not Portrait Mode: This happens in standard Photo mode too, so it's not the portrait blur.
- Software Behavior: The camera detects the background faces and actually tries to recover detail (sharpening), but since they are optically blurred to begin with, it can only do so much. My Question: Is it normal for the X9's front camera to behave this way? It feels like the focal plane is set strictly for arm's length (single person), and the depth of field is too shallow to keep people in the back sharp. Has anyone else noticed this narrow depth of field on the non-Pro model?
