Preston didn't rise to the occasion in the bomber jacket episode

Completely Gentrified

I mean no hate and I love the boys and I think the dad did a fantastic job raising those boys, but in the end of the bomber jacket episode, while patching the bloody jacket, the dad praises Preston: "Where there's a challenge, you rise to the occasion. ... And you lift others in the process". He didn't though, right? When the challenge appeared, i.e., he lost his jacket, he didn't rise above at all, much to the contrary: he harassed customers and employees at Casa Baja and he sent an elderly woman to work the freezer. He only went back to being wholesome after the challenge disappeared and the jacket was recovered.

It tracks with the series and everything, after this kind of sheltered environment where there were raised (and which was shook by the mother's passing) is often made possible by giving free passes to less than noble behaviors. Again, no hate, just an observation because I don't think anything in this series is by accident.
