Hello, I am currently a senior at a local university finishing my degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Investments, with an expected graduation date in Summer 2026. My goal is to begin a career as a financial analyst, although the current labor market has made the process feel increasingly challenging.

Earlier this year, I completed an internship in accounting (January 2024), and I have been actively applying for a second internship for both the upcoming spring semester and the summer. Despite consistent applications throughout this semester, I have not received many responses. Most of my practical experience comes from bookkeeping roles, working as a finance assistant, and my internship in accounting. While I haven’t had direct financial analyst experience, I have worked with portfolios, completed a Google Data Analytics Certificate, and I am currently studying for the CFA.

My concern is whether it is still possible to break into finance if I am unable to secure another internship before graduation. If I do not land an internship, I will need to find a job, and given the timing, I want to avoid graduating without relevant analyst experience and then facing challenges entering the labor market.

I would also appreciate any feedback on my résumé. I removed the company names for privacy, but I welcome any critique regarding formatting, structure, or how I can better position myself for financial analyst roles.

Additionally, I recently accepted an on-call position with the Small Business Administration as a Finance Representative in the Disaster Relief division. The role involves helping small businesses qualify for loans. Although it is not a full-time position, I was planning to use this role strategically to strengthen my résumé and help me transition into a financial analyst job after graduation. I would appreciate any advice or critique of this plan as well.

My main concerns are is the experience I have enough to break in without another internship if I don’t land one, and what else could I do to try to break in any help on this matter is appreciated.
