Xbox 360 (TU1-TU3) view distance question

Hello, not sure if this is the right place to ask this but since it relates to the golden age, I figured I'd ask.

I'm putting a modpack together to replicate the old days of the 360 on java, and I'm pretty much done at this point. Only thing I'm wondering about is the view distance. Everywhere I read, it says the 360 has 10 render distance, but it doesn't look like that to me in any video I watch. Does anyone know if this is true or not?
