What’s the average GPA for Stanford MSCS admits?
Hi all, I’m a current junior at a T10 in the US majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics, sitting at around a 3.8 GPA right now. I have been offered a full tuition scholarship for graduate school in the US, so I’m planning to apply to Stanford’s MSCS program and wanted to get a realistic sense of how competitive my GPA is.
Does anyone know the typical GPA range for admitted MSCS students at Stanford? I’ve seen mixed things online — some say 3.7+ is fine, others say you practically need a 3.9+. If you’ve been admitted, know people who have, or have insight from faculty/advisors, I’d really appreciate hearing what GPA ranges are common.
I’ve checked the official website, but they don’t publish stats for admitted cohorts.
Does anyone (current students or alumni) know of any general GPA ranges, department presentations, or admissions info sessions where the MSCS program shared cohort data.
