What materials do you always have on hand?

Former public school teacher turned aspiring homeschool parent here (my child is 3 right now). I am enjoying the process of researching homeschool approaches and thinking about all the possibilities. Very big picture thinking right now, for the most part.

One specific, logistics question I have is this: are there certain materials that you always like to have on hand? For example, when I was in the classroom, I always liked having large butcher paper and blank books on hand. Thank you!
