Despite the comments a recent poster received regarding their starter and methods for troubleshooting (c'mon guys, let's lead with kindness), my Al loaf turned out great with last minute human intervention thanks to kind and thoughtful responses from Redditors.

I typically feed my starter before bed or first thing in the morning then go through my same day baking process, but I got sidelined and didn't get home until wayyyy too late to prepare and bake. Because I had so much starter prepped (which is common for my same day bakes), and not wanting to toss or reserve any, I did turn to Al for an assist.

[Here's my full Al thread.](https://grok.com/share/c2hhcmQtNQ_0c605808-45b6-4309-b44e-3440e65673b0?rid=29dc5339-a712-4361-b7a3-843b487a160c)

Now I did create a post to get a gut check from the comminity and then I got started. After autolysing and finding myself with a dry dough I learned something new from a commenter that the recipe didn't account for the hydration in the starter! Using the Flourwise app I added 40g more (and the salt I forgot to include) to match my normal dough hydration and then cried and fretted as the dough struggled to accept the additional water and simply did not want to stick to itself (I sprinkled a little bit of flour into its folds to get sticky, which worked).

Kudos to Flourwise, totally recommend!

There's a dimple at the top where I popped a bubble while scoring, but it turned out pretty much the way I wanted it to.

So Al isn't the worst thing to do. I will also say that I won't use ChatGPT as I have found it works too hard to give you an answer it thinks you want and hallucinates FAR too often to be of any use. I did give Grok instructions to consider starter hydration in future recipes it develops.
