41 [M4F] - dad bods, chubby guys, and those who appreciate them

As a life-long husky boy, it took me until my late 30s (I’m 41 now) to begin to appreciate that there’s a subset of folks out there for whom the chub isn’t a fault that they might be willing to look past so much as it is an asset on its own merits. A feature, not a bug, so to speak. We talk a lot about body positivity these days, but most of that dialog is focused (rightfully so) on undoing some of the harms caused by toxic male gaze on women’s sense of self-worth. I’m certainly not here to challenge any of that work - I think it’s much needed - but as a chubby guy who spent most of his life feeling as though he were at a deficit, I am here to say why not Zoidberg?

So what am I looking for, you ask? I mean, clearly a pure, unadulterated shot of praise and validation without qualification. Duh.

I jest - I am honestly actually terrible at accepting compliments, but I blame that on my puritan ancestors, and we can save that discussion for another time.

What I am after is a conversation partner, someone to explore the space with, to talk through physical preferences, how we arrive at them, what they mean to us, how we are or aren’t able to change them or hold contradictory desires in our heads. I’m very interested in an ongoing dialogue, I enjoy spinning out scenarios starring you and I (idealized versions if you like).

A little bit about me - I work with my hands but also have advanced degrees in useless fields in the humanities. I’m 5’11” (not gonna do the usual internet trick of stretching that to 6’), 245lbs, beard and glasses. Shaved head, hairy basically everywhere else. Of average endowment and decently well-adjusted about it. I’ve been told I have a nice ass, but like I said I’m bad at accepting compliments. I pride myself on being open-minded and enjoy few things more than learning what makes others tick, what floats their boats.
