My grandma was called Mrs. Husband's Full Name... In the 80s/90s. And it made me go WTF?

So, my grandma stands out. Even though her mom went by Mrs. Husband's Full Name, Grandma didn't. When she married in the 80s she kept her FULL name. But get this, when her dad's obituary was posted in the newspaper, they called her "Mrs. Amos Denham", and the only respect she got was her name in brackets. Oddly, her mom wasn't called that. She was listed as "Mrs. Katie Wyatt MacGlashin" and not "Mrs. Fred MacGlashin" even though it was her formal married name. Rude. Everywhere else she was "Dr. Molly MacGlashin", even in newspapers.
