Best short throw projector with horizontal offset (no ceiling mount, 151" screen, <$1,000, US)?
Hey all,
Looking for some help picking a short throw projector.
My setup:
- Location: US
- Screen size: 151" diagonal
- Mounting: I do NOT want to ceiling mount – planning to put it on a stand/shelf
- Throw type: Short throw (projector will be fairly close to the screen)
- Need: Ability to offset horizontally (lens shift / good keystone that doesn’t totally trash the image) because I likely can’t center it perfectly
- Budget: Under $1,000 (new or used is fine as long as it’s realistic/reliable). Willing to spend more if needed.
I’ve been looking around and keep seeing mixed info about which models actually have decent horizontal lens shift vs just digital keystone, and which ones hold up well at large screen sizes like 150"+.
For folks with similar constraints:
- What short throw projector are you using?
- How much horizontal offset are you running?
- Any issues with image quality at ~151"?
- Anything you wish you knew before buying (noise, brightness, fan, input lag, etc.)?
Links to specific models or personal experience would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🙏
