People who used flagship to mid range, is there a big difference in security and functionality?

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of buying a phone this coming 12.12 and I'm contemplating whether to buy a Samsung flagship or A56 5g. I can push to a flagship phone but I just want to know if I'll sacrifice a lot if I settled to A56. I don't usually use my phone for picture and I only use basic necessities of the phone. I want to buy the A56 for a reserve phone for banking only. A friend of mine discourage me buying the A56 because the system updates of midrange of Samsung is half baked.
