Is this a crush??

Ok so there’s a new guy at my school I share a class with. We talk and text almost every day, tease each other, and our friends CONSTANTLY ship us. We joke about it, and he never denies it but doesn’t confirm either. He has told me he likes a girl (not in the school) though and he's curious on who I like.

I find myself looking for him in and outside of class, I flirt with him subtly sometimes, and thinking about him a lot. Outside school, I usually initiate texts (he’s on and off, sometimes dry, sometimes engaged) and I get really anxious when he leaves me on read or ignores them, causing me to double text alot.

I don’t think I have a crush, I’ve helped him with his crushes and never felt jealous about them, but he’s always on my mind, especially after a recent traumatic experience where he was there for me and really supportive.

Our friendship is really chill and fun, but if I don't like him then why's he on my mind so damn much?

TL;DR: Close, flirty friend who’s always on my mind. Not sure if it’s a crush.
