[M4F] Daenerys' Defeat - Taming the Last Dragon... or another Queen (Game of Thrones / ASOIAF)
With the new show in the ASOIAF setting, I've had a renewed interest in one of the more iconic characters of the first show - Daenerys. A powerful, beautiful woman like her has a lot of potential to do a fun RP - and especially seeing the tables turned, and seeing what might happen if things got out of hand...
Below are a few potential ideas that this could take - but they're not exhaustive by any means! If you have any that come to mind yourself for the Mother of Dragons - or another GoT character, Margaery is another notable one that could be quite fun - do let me know!
A Mercenary's Bedwarmer
It was the norm, for a queen as inexperienced and beautiful as she was. Even subdued men would oggle at her when they had the chance to behind her back, or at least when they thought it was behind her back.
But it was magnified when it was from an overly cocky, confident mercenary captain that she'd been trying to get to turn coat. The crude comments, leering looks, and 'invitation' to negotiate with him by hopping onto his lap would eventually push her over the edge - and into ejecting him forcefully. The mercenaries would have made for a fine addition to her army - but they'd die instead.
Except that a few hours later, everything would be different. The remnants of her army scattered to the wind, surprised in the night by the army of slavers and their mercenaries... and Daenerys now whimpering on the mercenary captain's lap as he felt her up, the last Targaryen realizing all too belatedly that she should have taken him up on the humiliating offer... rather than end up a toy.
The Master's Prize
Ruling a city like Meereen was not easy work, nor particularly rewarding. Day after day, unrest roiled just below the surface of the main thoroughfares - and in the back alleys even Unsullied were now being killed. The city was a powderkeg - and one that defied even Daenerys' ability to control it alone.
That could lead to a rather... problematic moment for the Queen. Perhaps some escaped Masters would return at the head of an army she no longer had the means to defeat, or the head of the Harpy made his move, or even a rich shipowner that would have the fleet capable of ferrying her armies to Westeros if she chose to leave the ungrateful city behind. A man of power, one that she could not force to do as she wanted... but instead bargain with. What could be worth the potential price of leaving her in charge of a powerful state like Meereen, or taken to reconquer her family's kingdom?
In the end, the price for his agreement would be simple. A single night with the Mother of Dragons, his to do with as he pleased. All she had to do was resist, for her strong will to hold out the night without begging submission.
She'd fail. And the next time her followers would see her, trailing along behind her new master, collared and shackled... it would show to the world how thoroughly she'd been tamed.
A Bandit's Luck
A world where things had gone better for Daenerys. Where she didn't happen to forget enemies existed, and her dragons burned the fleet and armies that opposed her. Where madness did not ignite in her at the sight of a city, and where her saving the Seven Kingdoms had led to many of her people loving - or, at least, tolerating - her. It would not have come without losses - Jon Snow, for one, but she'd come out of it with her dream of taking back her family's throne completed.
But despite that, she'd still be just a woman - and if her dragons were to be far away, her escort small in days of peace, it would give an opening for the most powerful person in Westeros to fall into the hands of one of the weakest. A group of bandits, lured by the richness of her entourage, with no ideas that they were taking on the Queensguard - with one of them succeeding in grabbing ahold of her and taking her away. While her men frantically searched the countryside, Daenerys would be just out of reach in a 'hideout' barely worthy of the title.
And what would a lucky bandit do with his chance? Would Daenerys drop out of the history books, plunging the realm into civil war once again - or would Westeros find itself ruled by a new King, some random man who'd managed to tame the dragon herself?
