Need Help for Buying Overear Headphones with $300 budget

Hi,

I am currently looking to buy myself some new over ear headphones for around $300 as a Christmas "gift". I own a pair of DT 770 Pro's and I do enjoy them a lot, but I've been wanting to try something more better. I am open to open back suggestions, but I think I would perfer a closed back, since I like to feel more immersed in my music/games/movies.

I have been looking and so far the one that catches my eye the most would be the DT 1770 Pro mk1's since they are currently on sale for $279. But they are 9 years old, so I want to know if there are any headphones that would be a better purchase that are newer. I haven't really been able to find many comparisons, mainly just that they are pretty aggresive-sounding, but i tend to perfer that tuning.

I'm open to trying different headphones so any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you!
