Playoff Scenarios - The Politics Behind Them

So, throw away most deserving or best team for a second to look at the politics behind the choices the CFP committee has for the last spot. Basically, they can:

-Piss off the SEC and Bama and basically kill conference title games.

-Piss off the ACC and Miami and send a clear message that head to head games at the beginning of the year matter very little. Combined with the Texas Ohio State result, it would seriously hurt tough out of conference games since you get hurt by the loss but don’t even get the benefit of the head to head.

-Piss off ND.

While ND certainly has a large fan base, that outcome has to be preferable to the other two, right? You keep conference title games in tact and you at least give some benefit to OOC games if you win.

It would certainly be hard to justify given how they have talked about it in previous weeks, but I think the committee might go in that direction.
