Unable to Lucid dream; gave up after a long while of trying it
I know I am doing something wrong, I can feel it. The problem is that I can't seem to figure it out.
Last night when I tried to lucid dream, I did the WBTB method. 4 hours and 30 minutes later, I wake up and walked around for a bit, reading some things for about 15 minutes before going back to bed. Then I tried the WILD technique. I made myself as still as possible, and even counted from 1 to 100 from time to time, but... nothing. Usually I'd feel my body go numb or twitchy eyelids, or even a racing heart beat, but literally nothing last night.
After an hour of laying on my back still and not doing anything but counting in my mind, I simply just gave up and rolled onto my side in defeat, planning on going back to sleep. I woke back up at 8:15 am because of my alarm, but then I fell back asleep, leading to me oversleeping. That's when I decided that was the last time I ever tried lucid dreaming
What exactly am I doing wrong? Am I spending too much time on electronics, am I simply not doing it long enough, am I missing experience with dream recall? I cannot tell. I've been trying to lucid dream for a while because I wanted to have a dream where I get comforted by fictional characters because I'm lonely in real life, but unfortunately it hasn't been working for me.
