HiBy R4 double-tap to wake not working after long idle?

Just noticed that the double-tap to wake on my HiBy R4 doesn’t always respond after the device has been idle for a long time. Sometimes it works fine, other times I have to press the power button instead.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is this a software bug or some kind of deep sleep behavior?
