 This week my husband brought home a papaya, but it was still green, so I waited until it ripened before preparing it. Yesterday I checked it and saw that it was ready—in fact, it was overripe—so I peeled it, removed the spoiled pieces, chopped the pulp, and extracted the seeds. Nothing went to waste: the peels and very ripe parts became a snack for the few tortoises I have left; I saved the seeds to process them later and make a natural remedy; and with the pulp, I decided to make a delicious juice and also eat it in pieces. I usually store fruit pulp in glass jars in the refrigerator; that way it keeps better.

I still have a lot of limes and lemons, so I decided to add some lemon juice to this drink, as the touch of acidity is really nice. So, here's my **PAPAYA AND LEMON JUICE**. This is a juice that's easy on the stomach and a real treat, in addition to all the nutritional benefits it provides, such as vitamins, enzymes, minerals, fiber, and water. That said, let's get to the recipe!

# THE RECIPE

**Time, ingredients and equipment**

* Preparation time: This is a simple recipe, so it will be ready in five minutes.
* The quantities can vary according to individual taste and availability.
* Servings: Here I prepared 750 ml of papaya and lemon juice, but this amount can be adjusted.
* 400 grams of papaya pulp, without seeds or peel.
* 250 ml of cold drinking water.
* 1 lemon (you can substitute it with another citrus fruit).
* Sweetener to taste. I used 30 grams of white sugar.
* 1 slice of papaya, for garnish.
* Ice to taste.
* Plate, knife, blender, bowl, cookie cutter (for cutting the garnish), spoon, etc.

**THE PROCEDURE**

Place the chopped papaya in the blender. Reserve a piece for garnish.

Next, add the water, squeeze the lemon (without seeds), and the sugar. Cover and blend at high speed for 1 or 2 minutes.

To garnish the drink, slice the reserved piece of papaya into rounds about 0.5 centimeters thick, and then cut out shapes using a cookie cutter. I cut out two stars here, but only one turned out well. Serve with ice, place the garnish in the glass, and the **PAPAYA AND LEMON JUICE** is ready. It's worth noting that this juice was delicious, very well-balanced in terms of sweetness and acidity, and the color is also very pretty, a sign that it's a drink rich in vitamin A. All that's left is to enjoy this drink! Cheers!
